I enjoyed the opportunity to represent the owners before the Ohio Power Siting Board on licensing issues arising out of the conversion to a coal fired facility. Thank you for the article and the drone footage.
I was struck by the enormity of the facilities at the time of the decision to change fuels Suspect the steam turbine and generator housings would remain the same
Happy Birthday! My partner Richard's birthday was Saturday as well. We celebrated by seeing a play at Ensemble Theater and having dinner at Pep & Dolores (highly recommend).
Next time you cross the river, try the Augusta Ferry off US 52/River Road (https://www.augustaky.gov/ferry). There's a small parking lot on the Ohio side (between Utopia and Higginsport).
Augusta is a charming little town where the Clooney family lived. George Clooney's parents live there; his mother runs a small shop called Nina's. The Baker-Bird Winery is worth visiting just to see the old pre-Civil war wine cellar. According to their website, it's the "largest, oldest wine cellar in the USA, on the National Registry of Historic Places, and the only winery to have survived a Civil War battle."
The kids will like the ferry ride best but there's also kid-friendly places to eat that also provide options for grownups :-)
Will definitely do that next time. I remembered, now that you mentioned it, that Clooney's family was from there. Nick ran for Congress against my boss Geoff before I worked for him. It was a fun discovery trip!
Another great story. Thanks.
And Maysville, what a cool little town.

No way! Hauntingly beautiful place. I'd love to take a tour of it before they start really taking it apart.

Can't believe you're 60. Happy b-day.
Hey, Happy Birthday!
Thank you! See you soon! You guys have a reactor not far from you. Two if you count the one in Ohio.
